Special Edition Covers For ‘The Elfstones of Shannara’ and ‘The Wishsong of Shannara’ Unveiled

Earlier today, The Shannara Chronicles on Facebook unveiled covers for new special editions of The Elfstones of Shannara. There are two different covers of the book. The first (shown above) features Austin Butler as Wil Ohmsford looking at one of the three Elfstones. The second (shown below) features Poppy Drayton as Amberle Elessedil.

New covers for Elfstones is no surprise, but what was surprising was the reveal of a new cover for Wishsong.

This one–which, I’m sorry, looks like a terrible Photoshop job–features Allanon, understandable since he’s the only character that carries over to that book. What’s interesting to note is that there is no cover reveal for The Sword of Shannara, the first book in the series. And while that’s understandable given the fact that The Shannara Chronicles follows book 2, does that say something about whether or not MTV has included Paranor, the druid’s keep, in the show?

Many of the numerous covers for Sword have included Paranor, whether the castle as a whole or a scene from the castle. In Elfstones, Allanon does travel to Paranor to research the Ellcrys (he’s even attacked by the Dagda Mor there), so does the lack of cover mean there is no digital artwork of Paranor to be used for Sword? Or is that cover simply not part of this reveal?
